EU passport holder may obtain a tourist visa at any Egyptian Embassy in your country or directly in Egypt at the airport on arrival (30 days tourist visa cost 25 USD). Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months.
The currency in Egypt is the Egyptian pound (1LE = 100 Pt). Exchange rates are generally better in Egypt than abroad (1 USD = 15 LE). You can exchange US Dollars and Euro in many places as hotels, exchange offices (Thomas Cook) and banks in Hurghada. Visa, MasterCard and Diners cards are accepted by hotels in Egypt and can be used to get cash in banks and at ATM machines. Travellers cheques are accepted by banks.
